Electrical Condition Reports
Electrical condition reports in Lymington, New Forest
Electrical condition reports are important for safety (and energy efficiency). All electrical installations deteriorate with time. As a result, they should be inspected and/or tested regularly. Reports are often required when selling or buying a property. Additionally, a report is needed as part of a periodic inspection in commercial/rented properties.
Our qualified electricians will check the condition of your electrics against a UK standard.
The 2 types of Condition Report
In general, there are two types of electrical installation condition report:
1) A Visual Condition Report
This does not include hardwire testing and is suitable if the installation has been tested recently. It is used to give an indication of age and suitability of the electrics for further use and/or modifications.
2) An Electrical Installation Condition Report
This is what we would normally recommend, as it is a more in depth report. Our electricians test the installation and would find any hidden damage.

Why you need an Electrical Condition Report
Faulty and old wiring is one of the main causes of electrical problems and electrical fires in the home. You can reduce the risk of a fire by having the condition of your cables, switches, sockets and other accessories checked regularly.
Reports are often required when selling or buying a property, after a flood or fire. Or you may have a period recommended in previous electrical certificates or reports. For landlords, it’s recommended that periodic inspection and testing is carried out at least every five years or at the end of a tenancy, whichever occurs first.
